Access Studio Project

The Access Studio Project involved working with a range of communities in Cork to produce studio based programmes for broadcast on Cork Community Television. The communities that participated in the first phase of the Access Studio Project were:

  • The Sexual Violence Centre
  • Traveller Visibility Group
  • Cork LGBT Archive
  • Members of the Ukrainian community in Cork
  • Members of a Youth Panel
  • Mahon Community Development Project
  • Environmental Forum
  • SHEP (Social and Health Education Project)
  • Nasc – The Migrant and Refugee Rights Centre
  • Members of the Irish-speaking community in Cork from Gael-Taca
  • CESCA (Cork Equal and Sustainable Communities Alliance)

The overall aim of the project was to provide these community organisations and groups with the opportunity to make programming of relevance to their community, to learn new skills and to assist in the development of Cork Community Television. We wanted to enable the participating organisations to discuss important topics and ideas that are very relevant to their communities and to share that knowledge with a wider audience. We wanted to facilitate debate, dialogue and public participation using the platform of community media.
